Philomena Toomey

Philomena Toomey is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 18 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of clinical and community-based settings. She provides counseling for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and family and relationship challenges.


Throughout her career, Philomena has worked extensively with individuals facing complex life circumstances, including crisis situations, domestic violence, and co-occurring mental health concerns. She has experience in both individual and group counseling, as well as collaborating with families, community resources, and multidisciplinary teams to support client growth and stability.


In addition to her professional work, Philomena cares for two adopted daughters, giving her a deeper understanding of family dynamics, resilience, and the unique challenges that can arise within the home. She is also actively involved in her community, having volunteered in memory care settings for several years and participating in outreach efforts serving individuals experiencing homelessness. Her compassion for others extends to her personal life, where she has rescued all three of her dogs.


Philomena’s approach is compassionate, practical, and client-centered. She focuses on helping clients build coping skills, improve communication, and develop healthier patterns in their daily lives. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to move toward healing and lasting personal growth.
