Laura graduated from Texas A&M University where she received her Bachelor’s in English Literature, and the University of Texas at San Antonio where she earned a Master’s in School Counseling. Before working as a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate, Laura worked in the field of education for 9 years as a teacher, instructional coach, and school counselor.
Laura's therapeutic approach is grounded in a combination of narrative, solution-focused, and strengths-based theories, with a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and empowerment. She is dedicated to helping individuals reframe their life stories and challenge limiting narratives. When working with children, Laura utilizes a child-centered play therapy framework, harnessing the natural power of play to promote growth and healing.
Outside of her professional work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and pursuing outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing. She also values indoor pursuits like reading, painting, and building Legos with her son. Laura practices under the supervision of Elizabeth (Betty) Arredondo, M.Ed., LPC-S, CCST, CAGCS, CCTP, and is committed to providing compassionate and effective counseling services to her clients.
