Jane A. Byers, M.Ed, LPC is a seasoned mental health professional with over three decades of experience in counseling. She holds a Master of Education in Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Oglethorpe University. Beginning her career in private practice, Jane provided individual, couples, and family counseling with a focus on cognitive behavioral therapy. She developed treatment plans using best practices and collaborated with schools, court systems, physicians, and employers. Her work also involved navigating third-party payments and working closely with insurance companies while actively participating in local and state professional organizations.
Jane’s expertise extends to military populations, having served as a Military Family Life Counselor for several Department of Defense (DoD) contractors. From 2011 to 2018, she provided counseling services to service members and their families across multiple military bases in the U.S. and abroad. Her work in Child Development Centers, Youth Centers, and schools focused on skill development, resilience-building, and addressing the unique challenges faced by children of military families, particularly those affected by deployment and reintegration. She collected data using DoD software, consulted with staff and command, and delivered executive summaries to the DoD while maintaining availability for crisis support.
With a strong foundation in communication and evidence-based interventions, Jane remains committed to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. Her extensive experience in both private practice and military counseling underscores her ability to provide compassionate, results-driven care.
